My Giant Wings

I woke up one morning to find that I had delicate pair of giant wings instead of my hands. Each wing 6 feet wide. I was praying to God all night, that I wanted to fly all over the world and had fallen asleep. And definitely he misunderstood me. Now no choice. God's gifts are not taken back. I have to live with it. I can't drive or work. I have to fly and live like birds now. I never flew before. Take off, landing. I must practice. Who would teach me? No one. I am the first convert human so far. So trial and error is the way to go.

Got myself transported to a hilly place nearby. And I started to practice day in and day night. I hurt my wings and myself but learnt important flight principles. Many times I just watched the swans, the vultures, the big birds take off and land. Millions years of practice they have, and I have none. But I wasn't going to give up. Determined to fly. I was able to master some basic skills in couple of months. And now I could fly short distances.

Living on ground I never realize about air traffic. There is lot of traffic at lower heights, and gradually less and less at higher heights. Occasionally I would hit small sparrows, and pigeons in their flight path. Had myself beak-jected several times. And I had no problems watching the rare eagles, kites, and vultures. They are excellent flyers, divers, and predators. Then the sea gulls. Ohh they are the gurus of the effortless flying. Gliding on air currents. And feeling weightlessness. Tree tops were not strong enough for me to perch, and I got my wings entangled in branches and leaves so many times. The best places would be building tops. But there is no water spots there or things you can get to eat after you are tired flying. No coffee shops. Or anything. Now what could I expect? The best part is that there are no rules to follow. The sky is the ultimate freeway in all directions. Gliders and Divers paradise! Just be careful you don't hit any airplanes on your way. Keep your eyes open. And experience the freshest and purest air and wind-chill too if you flying naked. And you can always fly above the clouds on cloudy days. The sun is yours whenever. You can live on fresh fruit, or start to prey on smaller birds! Because you definitely need a lot of energy to fly.
